Johannesburg, 29 April – As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting local soccer and netball clubs, 10bet SA, together with its brand ambassador Doctor Khumalo, recently visited Jabavu, Soweto to donate a full soccer kit, training bibs, and soccer boots to Jabavu Masters FC. This initiative, part of 10bet’s Gear Up Ikasi campaign, aims to empower amateur sports and nurture talent in communities across the region.
During the donation event held at Jabavu Grounds, Doctor Khumalo shared words of encouragement and wisdom with the team members, highlighting the importance of community support and perseverance in pursuing dreams. Reflecting on his own journey, Doctor Khumalo emphasized the significance of overcoming challenges and staying focused on goals.
“I grew up in Dube, but Soweto is where my heart lies. The unwavering support from this community has shaped who I am today. I never let the challenges I faced define my future. Your determination to seek support from corporate South Africa shows your dedication to nurturing your talents. I applaud your courage and encourage you to persevere,” expressed Doctor Khumalo, 10bet Ambassador and soccer legend.
In response, Tshepo Mohale, also known as Ngubo, expressed gratitude on behalf of Jabavu Masters FC. “This donation is a game-changer for our team. We are grateful to 10bet and Doctor Khumalo for their support, which will undoubtedly inspire us to achieve greater heights both on and off the field.
The partnership between 10bet and Doctor Khumalo has created an opportunity for the brand ambassador and soccer legend to connect with Jabavu Masters FC and the local community, leading to a personal commitment on his end to organize and host a friendly tournament at Jabavu Grounds with other soccer legends before the year ends. This event will bring together local teams and serve as a platform for community engagement and development.
“We are thrilled to have Doctor Khumalo, a football legend and passionate advocate for amateur sports, join us in this meaningful initiative. This donation represents our ongoing commitment to empower local sports clubs and provide opportunities for talented individuals to showcase their skills, said Zanele Nhlapo, CSR and PR Manager at 10bet SA.
Launched in November 2023 and currently in its third round, the “Gear Up Ikasi” initiative will remain active for another seven months. It aims to tackle the difficulties community soccer and netball teams face in acquiring kits due to tight budgets and financial limitations. Amateur soccer and netball teams in Gauteng are invited to participate the Gear-Up Ikasi campaign by sharing a 30-second motivational video on 10bet South Africa’s official Facebook page, for a chance to be selected and receive a kit from 10bet.
