21 December 2023 – 10bet South Africa held its first official Gear-Up Ikasi kit handover in Chiawelo, Soweto on Thursday, 21 December.
A Chiawelo-based community football team, Zone 14 FC, were the first recipients of an array of sports equipment courtesy of 10bet SA.
Formed in 2012, Zone 14 FC was randomly selected amongst many other amateur teams across Gauteng that submitted their motivations through the official 10bet Facebook page. Zone 14 FC has this year alone participated in a total of 16 community football tournaments and has also finished the year in the Top 8 of their local football league.
This was the first of ten (10) kit handovers that will be conducted by 10bet SA in a period of 10-months across selected Gauteng townships. The next handover will take place towards the end of January 2024.
The Gear-Up Ikasi initiative is part of 10bet SA’s continued efforts and commitment to make a significant impact on community soccer and netball teams that are in dire need of essential sports equipment.
In addition to the campaign, 10bet South Africa has officially welcomed Bafana Bafana legend and one of football’s most revered icons, Doctor Khumalo as their official brand ambassador. Khumalo will also play a key role in the Gear-Up Ikasi initiative as part of his other ambassadorial duties.
He joins the 10bet “Ultimate 10’s”, a group of renowned sports and lifestyle personalities which include, Andile Ncube as well as award winning and favoured journalist, Lorenz Kohler.
‘16V’, as he is affectionally known says joining the 10bet SA family presented an exciting opportunity for him to partner with a passionate brand that has consumer engagement at heart and focuses on the transformative power of sports.

We cannot afford to have empty seats when Bafana Bafana is playing, especially not with the calibre of players we possess at the moment,” added Khumalo.
